Explicit Instruction

Explicit instruction involves the teacher clearly showing students in detail what to do and how to do something. With explicit instruction (sometimes known as direct instruction) the teacher explains a process to students step-by-step, checks whether they have understood the process and concepts taught, and corrects misconceptions during the lesson.
